All four of the major parties have now released health-care policies, vying for votes in the May 5 election.
Health care has always been a hot-button and divisive issue in Alberta. With Alberta spending one of the highest amounts per capita on health care, one would expect the end result to be a world-class, easy-to-access, low-wait-time system. But opposition parties have been criticizing the governing Tories over the so-called “mess” of health care and advocating that their plans are the best to address the health-care needs of Albertans.
All plans are patient-centred, with the Wildrose plan alluding to a two-tiered health-care system and the NDP being vague on details.
