With the launch of its XT860 smartphone, Motorola Mobility Canada needed to engage retail sales reps to drive sales. We recommended targeting these reps on Facebook with the Motorola Insiders program, using gamification techniques and a points-based incentive program.

Immensely successful, the Motorola Insiders community grew to almost 800 in-store repsacross the country, initiated more than 9,000 product discussions and provided valuable sales feedback. Mystery shopper data indicated that this program boosted sales rep recommendation rates beyond the targeted five per cent to 58 per cent; it also spurred a 26 per cent increase in sales.  Motorola intends to roll out the Canadian program globally.
