+ 1 What do you read to keep current on the latest trends and news?

I have my RSS feeds through InoReader which has replaced Google Reader in my heart with all my favorite sites on a wide range of topics including tech, social media, digital marketing, and what’s going on in the city. I usually spend time in the morning going through them as I have my coffee. Then for the rest of the day, it’s Twitter and, surprisingly enough, Facebook because a lot of my friends are equally addicted to the forefront of what’s going on and post great content. Recently, I’ve even begun to get info through Google+ Communities. Finally, when I am not staring at a screen, there is the all-important face-to-face talking with friends. Because a lot of us are interested in the same topics, we’ll often discuss things which spread through our feeds with different perspectives or we just sit around showing each other the most hilarious YouTube videos we’ve seen. We can’t be serious ALL the time!

+ 2 If you could live in any city, where would it be and why?

Tough question. I want to say the Silicon Valley area because there are so many amazing things there in terms of the tech world and I’ve never even been out to California, so it’d be an adventure. But I think I’d choose London, England because they’ve got a huge startup and tech community. It’s a great launching point to explore Europe and the European music scene, it doesn’t get overly cold there even in the winter, I love big cities with vibrant cultures and things always going on, and it’d be an even bigger adventure than California!

+ 3 What’s your “plan B” if you need to spontaneously switch careers?

Whatever it is that Barney Stinson does on How I Met Your Mother.

+ 4 Most coveted superpower?

I have actually given this a lot of thought over the years and I’d have to go with Wolverine’s powers. If I had to choose only one of them, I’d go with his healing factor which makes him almost immortal. If I had that long of a life I’d be able to watch the progression of humanity and one day play with tech none of us have even dreamed of…and then play with whatever comes after that! (Deep breaths.)

+ 5 Looking back, of which moment in your career are you most proud of and why?

When I clicked “Be Organizer” for Toronto’s local event of the first ever Mashable Social Media Day. I’d never planned an event before and barely knew anyone in the social media or tech communities of Toronto but planning and hosting that event opened up a world of friendships, opportunities, and connections.
