
Shanice has served both the Premier of Ontario and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. As Communications Advisor for Jeff Leal, then Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Shanice developed strategic communication and media strategies, including communications support for the Premier and Ontario Cabinet Ministers on their many trade missions throughout the United States in support of Canada’s NAFTA re-negotiations.
Shanice has also worked for two Members of Parliament and has extensive experience working on political campaigns at the federal, provincial and municipal level. She served as a youth panelist on CBC News Network’s Power & Politics during the 2021 Federal Election, as well as a past panelist for Equal Voice on campaign readiness. Shanice has supported many clients in addressing community and staff issues relating to anti-oppression, equity, diversity and inclusion, and publicly reposition themselves to implement the changes necessary. This is in addition to designing and conducting media training sessions, advocacy campaigns, and strategic communications plans.
Shanice holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Public Policy and Political Science from the University of Guelph, where she is currently a mentor to BIPOC students interested politics and public affairs.
