Cascades East Angus’s operations needed a favourable evaluation of its new recycled food packaging material – Enviro Kraft paper – from Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, called a “no objection letter.”

We understand the Government’s inter-departmental approval process and key priorities. Our key message document, which formed the basis for our representations with key political and departmental decision-makers, outlined the pitfalls of non-approval: job losses; pressure on the hurting pulp and paper industry; and the need for innovation and green-products support. In the past, approvals have taken up to three years, but in less than two months, Cascades East Angus received its no objection letter.
