Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) is pleased to announce the addition of Beatrice Politi as Vice President, Corporate Advisory — Earned Media, Coaching and Strategy. In her role, Beatrice will leverage her industry-leading expertise to help clients build relationships with media and connect with the audiences who matter most. She will also play a key role in H+K’s coaching and training offering, helping clients deliver effective messages.
“Now more than ever, it is critical that clients understand how the media landscape has changed, its impact on corporate reputation, and how it influences their ability to communicate effectively when engaging with journalists,” said Jason MacDonald, SVP and National Lead, Corporate Advisory at H+K. “That is why we are so excited to have someone like Beatrice, with her experience, expertise, and insights join H+K. As an award-winning journalist, she will strengthen this core capability of the agency, and help our clients successfully engage the media to drive reach, build reputation, mitigate risk and support business growth.”
As an industry veteran, Beatrice brings 21 years of storytelling craftsmanship as a journalist and newsroom manager at the local and national level. She is familiar with what journalists want, how newsrooms operate and continues to nurture ongoing relationships with former colleagues throughout her impressive career in Canadian media. Her deep sector knowledge of the media landscape brings new breadth and depth to H+K’s growing Corporate Advisory practice and will contribute to helping clients build, enhance and protect their reputations through more effective approaches to earned media.
“I believe everyone has a story to tell and an opportunity to tell it in a compelling way. Media educates and informs, influences and shapes the public conversation. I’m looking forward to helping our clients become part of the conversation,” said Beatrice Politi, VP, Corporate Advisory at H+K. “As demands on journalists increase and as newsrooms continually reinvent themselves, relationships are paramount. I’m excited to work within an organization that places media at its core and which is committed to building those relationships and being a resource to media.”
Prior to joining H+K, Beatrice worked in management consulting involving communications planning, strategic planning, executive facilitation, media training and coaching. Beatrice has spent two decades working in television news for three Canadian broadcasters. She enjoyed 14 years as an on-air reporter covering general assignment news, as well as the Health Beat and Parliament Hill. Beatrice was also a newsroom manager for seven years, first leading the Global Toronto newsroom before her promotion to Network Managing Editor. At the network level, she developed a network-focused storytelling model that bridged content, people and platforms for highest story saturation across Corus platforms – she was also the lead planner for network breaking news.
Beatrice embodies a passion for broadcast, tv news and journalism, evident through her dedication and commitment to educating the next generation of journalists as a journalism instructor at Seneca College. In addition, Beatrice also serves as Co-Chair of the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Conference, which hosts keynote speakers and dives into popular topics, issues and future within the radio, television and digital news industries.
