Hughes joins Hill+Knowlton after nearly eight years as a lawyer at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Canada’s largest law firm. At BLG, he served as the National Leader of the firm’s Defense and Security Industry Group and practiced primarily in the areas of government procurement and government relations. He regularly represented clients with respect to public procurement issues and international trade matters, and also advised clients on compliance with the federal Lobbying Act.
