Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K), one of Canada’s leading public affairs + public relations firms, has expanded its team in Saskatchewan with new local leadership and two new team members to better support clients locally, across Western Canada, and nationally.

This includes welcoming former long-time MLA, Cabinet Minister, and Saskatchewan Party co-founder Dan D’Autremont as a Senior Associate and former Director of Research for the Saskatchewan Government Caucus, Hayley Cattell as a Senior Consultant. These additions under the local leadership of Vice-President Joel Peterson, strengthen H+K’s long-standing presence in the province with greater government relations, public affairs, and strategic communications capacity.

“Having Dan and Hayley join us in Regina is another sign of our continued growth both in Saskatchewan and across Western Canada,” said Sheila Wisniewski, President + CEO of H+K Canada. “Our team in Regina has a proven track record of successfully advising Western-based clients as well as assisting national and multinational clients operating in the region. With Dan and Hayley’s additional experience that team will be able to provide an expanded range of strategic counsel.”

Dan D’Autremont brings 30 years of government experience to H+K, having first been elected to the provincial legislature in 1991. Notably, he is one of the “Original Eight” founding members of the Saskatchewan Party (SaskParty). Dan will provide senior strategic counsel related to government relations and public policy for H+K’s clients operating in Regina.

Hayley Cattell joins H+K directly from the Saskatchewan Government Caucus Office where she served as Director of Research, working closely with the Premier’s and various Ministers’ offices on communications development. Hayley will provide both government relations and communications services to Regina’s local and national clients.

“We have a rich history serving business leaders across Saskatchewan and are proud to have Dan and Hayley join us to provide our clients with unparalleled strategic counsel and increased access to key government decision-makers, across both the governing and opposition parties,” said Joel Peterson, Vice-President.

“Our outstanding team in Saskatchewan and across Western Canada are consistently securing exceptional wins for our clients regionally and nationally, we’re thrilled to have Dan and Hayley join us,” said Stephen Smart, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Western Canada. “The team recently supported long-standing H+K client BHP as they secured the single largest investment in Saskatchewan provincial history with their Jansen Potash Mine Project.”

H+K’s bench strength across the Prairies also includes a roster of other leading government relations, public affairs, and communications professionals in both Edmonton and Calgary including former federal cabinet minister, the Hon. Ted Menzies as well as Darren Cunningham. Joining the team in 2020, they provide unmatched expertise in the agriculture sector and recently helped deliver a legislative hill day with Fertilizer Canada for Alberta.

The Saskatchewan team specializes in government relations and public affairs with their deep sector knowledge across various key economic drivers. They are proud to serve both local and national clients operating in the province across the health + wellness, agricultural, oil and gas, mining + natural resources, and construction sectors.
