Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) is pleased to welcome Sara Loft as an Associate to its award-winning Public Participation team in Canada.

Sara is Kanien’kåha:ka, from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, and the Founder of Tawi:ne Consulting Inc., an Indigenous-owned company specializing in Indigenous engagement and consultation, policy/governance, and capacity development.

Sara’s successful career spans roles with the Government of Canada, Assembly of First Nations, and Ishkonigan Inc., a leading national firm specializing in Indigenous business.

“Sara brings an in-depth understanding of Indigenous community complexities, culture, traditions, and protocol,” says Chrystiane Mallaley, Senior Vice President and National Public Participation Lead. “We look forward to continued partnership with Sara and Tawi:ne to provide H+K’s clients with strong strategic guidance to design and implement meaningful engagement processes with Indigenous communities, as they seek to advance major projects, policy and planning initiatives.”

Sara has in-depth knowledge of Indigenous issues on a local and national level from her work with governments, communities and industry. She brings expertise in major infrastructure, renewable energy, resource development, community economic development. First Nation and Métis engagement and negotiation.

Through her work with the Office of Social Innovation at Queen’s University, Sara has contributed to the design of programs aimed at Indigenous business education leveraging shared value by emphasizing corporate-community responsibility and the promotion of community development. Sara is also a lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University.
