+1 What do you read to keep current on the latest trends and news?
Twitter is the first thing I check in the morning and the last thing I check before going to bed. It’s the best way to find out what people are talking about. I also regularly do the ‘tour’ of my Bookmarks Bar: Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, National Newswatch, Toronto Life, Gawker, and Buzzfeed. For the daily celebrity dish I count on Lainey Gossip. I also really enjoy international blogs like The Arabist to get a different perspective on what’s happening the Middle East.
+2 If you could live in any city, where would it be and why?
Is it bad to say Toronto? I love living here! I was born in Los Angeles so it would be neat to experience that city again. I’ve also always wanted to explore Doha, Qatar. It’s such a unique part of the world with so much going on. But I think I’d just have to visit there… I don’t know if I could handle the heat!
+3 What’s your “plan B” if you need to spontaneously switch careers?
Selling conch shells on a beach in the Turks and Caicos.
+4 Most coveted superpower?
The ability to fly. I hate traffic.
+5 Looking back, of which moment in your career are you most proud of and why?
My first day on the anchor desk was pretty special. I’m still relatively new to the business, having only been in it for a few years, so when I was given that opportunity I felt very honoured. I rehearsed like crazy for that first day.
