Ottawa, ON – September 16, 2011 — The Royal Canadian Mint has selected Hill+Knowlton Canada as its public relations agency of record for the next three years. Hill+Knowlton, which has provided communications services to the Mint for the past eight years, was chosen after an extensive, competitive review involving multiple agencies.

“As a Crown Corporation, we operate in both public and private environments. Our agency must understand the unique requirements of this scenario and the multitude of stakeholders that effect the success of our business and Hill & Knowlton was the clear choice,” said Patrick Hadsipantelis, Vice President, Marketing and Communications of the Royal Canadian Mint. “H+K’s passion for our business and ability to provide integrated communications solutions that meet all our needs makes them an ideal partner.”

Hill+Knowlton will be responsible for corporate communications and related functions. While the bulk of the work will be in Canada, Hill+Knowlton will also support the Mint’s marketing and communications efforts internationally.

“We are thrilled and so proud to be working with the Royal Canadian Mint,” said Mike Coates, president and CEO, Hill+Knowlton Canada. “We continue to be impressed by the innovation the Mint brings to its business – and their collaborative approach. We are very much looking forward to continuing to work together.”

Hill+Knowlton will work in close partnership with the Mint’s new marketing and advertising agency of record – Cossette – to deliver a seamless integrated model for marketing and communications in order to build profile, enhance reputation, drive sales and ultimately help the Royal Canadian Mint achieve its goal of being the best mint in the world.

Hill+Knowlton has been working with the Mint since 2003, on the RCM’s Olympic program, various circulation coin programs, and corporate communications initiatives.
