WASHINGTON — Hill+Knowlton Strategies has added Soren Dayton, an experienced digital communications and public affairs strategist, to the agency’s Washington, D.C., office as a senior vice president.

“Soren brings a diverse background in digital strategies, strategic communications and public affairs that will be the perfect complement to our cutting-edge digital and social offerings,” said Ellen Moran, executive vice president and general manager of the H+K Strategies Washington office.

Most recently Dayton worked at Prism Public Affairs, which subsequently merged with Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications, where he specialized in digital, coalitions and campaigns. Prior to joining Prism, Dayton was a senior strategist on the public affairs team at New Media Strategies, leading digital teams in energy, telecommunications, and political campaigns. In addition, Dayton brings with him years of political experience, including time spent as a legislative staffer for Rep. Nick Smith (R-Mich.) and on John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.

“I am excited to join such a world-class team,” Dayton said. “I look forward to working with the strategists at H+K on combining a first-class digital offering with Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ many other strengths to help clients navigate their challenges, public affairs and otherwise.”
